Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the YardDove mobile application and website operated by YardDove ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Our services

YardDove provides language translation (including Jamaican Patois / Patwa), travel discovery (nearby hotels, restaurants, and entertainment), interactive language lessons, AI conversation practice, business listings, and related content for visitors to Jamaica and language learners worldwide.

Features may change over time. Some features require an internet connection. Translation and AI responses are provided for convenience and learning and may not always be accurate.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use YardDove. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@yarddove.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans

YardDove offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans may include a free trial period as shown at sign-up. After a trial ends, your subscription renews automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.

Auto-renewal

iOS (Apple App Store): Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Apple handles refunds according to its policies.

Android (Google Play): Payment is charged to your Google Play account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before renewal. Manage in Google Play → Subscriptions.

Web: Where available, web subscriptions are billed through our payment provider. Cancel via your account subscription settings or by contacting support.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices with notice as required by the applicable app store or law. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance unless you cancel.

4. Free trial

If a free trial is offered, you will be charged the subscription fee when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial period expires. Only one free trial per user may be permitted where allowed by platform rules.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use YardDove for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload our systems
• Impersonate others or submit false business listings
• Upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
• Circumvent subscription or access controls

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Business listings

Businesses submitting listings confirm they have authority to represent the business and that information provided is accurate. We may edit, reject, or remove listings that violate guidelines, are misleading, or receive valid complaints. Featured placement may require a separate paid plan as described on our pricing pages.

7. Third-party content and links

Place data, maps, ratings, and hours may come from Google and other third parties and may be inaccurate or outdated. Always verify details before traveling. Third-party links (hotels, booking sites, social media) are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for third-party sites or services.

8. Intellectual property

YardDove content, branding, lessons, and software are owned by YardDove or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

YardDove is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, or uninterrupted availability. Travel and safety decisions are your responsibility.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, YardDove and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50 if you have not paid, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YardDove from claims arising from your use of the services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using YardDove at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or for operational reasons. Sections that by nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
